HAIR CARE GUIDE

Oh! Virgin Hair Extensions are premium, 100% Virgin Remy extensions. This means that one bundle is from one head, the hair still has it's  cuticles intact, healthy, and flow in the same direction from root to tip. Typically, hair that's collected directly from one head and has been cut while secured in a ponytail so none of the hair strands fall to the floor is of the best quality, with the least amount of tangling. Remy hair in a virgin state has been collected without further chemical processing and altering or stripping of the strands. True virgin remy hair lasts for a very long time, can be reused several times, and can be lightened, colored or styled with heat just like one’s own natural hair.

Before installing, we always suggest inspecting the hair thoroughly to ensure everything is to your liking. Any questions? please email ohvirginhair@gmail.com. We recommend washing or co-washing your hair with one of the following products:

  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and/or Conditioner

  • Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo and/or Conditioner

  • Silicon Mix Bambu Nutritive Hair Treatment

  • Aussie Moist Conditioner

We recommend co-washing the hair every 7-10 days to keep hair soft and manageable. Shampooing the hair when needed if the hair is weighed down from products you may have put on the hair.

Ideally, it’s best to deep condition hair with heat, and/or by leaving conditioner on for an extended period of time, rinsing hair thoroughly and gently followed up by air drying hair. The less heat the better, but if you absolutely have to get it dry fast, use high speed, and low heat or cool shot on your blow dryer.

While hair is damp, we suggest combing through leave-ins and/or heat protectants so hair can be properly protected from heatstyling. Here are some of our suggestions:

  • Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Serum

  • Fantasia IC Heat Protectant Spray (Red Bottle)

  • Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

  • Biosilk Silk Therapy Serum

  • Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother

  • ORS Olive Oil Heat Protectant Serum

When using heat on the hair, we recommend using quality tools that won’t scorch the hair or cause hot spots when flat ironing and curling the hair. Babyliss, Paul Mitchell and FHI make great tools that are worth the investment, but if you’re using a good ol’ Gold n’ Hot or your Ion, that's fine too! Just don’t OD on the heat, use your flexi-rods, rollers and pin curls to preserve your curls and you’ll be just fine. Always remember, everything is good in moderation =)

When installing, hair will shed minimally if you or are cutting the wefts. This is perfectly normal, and will be even more minimal if you or your stylist practices the fold over method. Sealing wefts is also an option, however with the quality of our hair, it isn’t required.

With lightening and coloring the hair, we absolutely recommend a licensed professional apply all color and bleach. If lightening at home, make sure to pre- and post- treat the hair with protein rich haircare products to protect the hair as best as possible. We love Aphogee and Joico K-Pak for this. However, if at all you’re worried on how to color your hair, take it to a professional. Your hair is an investment and you don’t ever want to compromise that. Also, make sure to use sulfate free and color safe products after coloring!
